Rhone Halloween Event

iCatching Events completed a spectacular halloween production for the French wine company Rhone. iCatching, working with Van Communications, delivered their 10th year Halloween wine tasting and quiz night at the Law Society.

The production included our full venue dressing and event theming services for the London venue. Here is what we did and how we did it…

The guests entered the room via a Halloween themed and dressed stairwell. At the doorway to the room we used a hologram ghost projection effect. The effect consisted of a ghostly butler ushering the guests into the room, waving at the guests and having a glass or two of wine. The butler was created by filming the actions on a green screen and projecting onto clear plexiglass screens, angled to have the ghost appear in the room.

The room at the Law society is a great old room, perfect for hosting a Halloween themed event. The clients wanted us to add theming to the space but to retain to the character of the room. We started by creating a stage set to include an animated haunted house scene complete with flying bats, flashes of lightening and the occasional ghostly image appearing. The haunted house consisted of a 16ft x 9ft screen and a 6500 lumens projector to project the bespoke animated graphics. The stage set was completed with haunted tree stage screens, cobwebs and tombstones all backlit with a multi light lightning effect controlled with a light organ.

The 36 tables were dressed with black table cloths and black chair covers with a lace sash. Large candelabras were used as table centres for each table.

To add a bit of magic to the event 80 LED candles appeared to be floating in mid air. This effect was inspired by the Harry Potter floating candles. It was achieved by suspending the candles by wire from a truss frame covering the entire length of the hall. The LED taper candles flicker to give the appearance of real candles without the risk of suspending a naked flame!

A intelligent moving head lighting system and LED par cans were used to add some light effects to the room, as well as providing some lighting for the party on the black and white dance floor later on in the evening.
