1960s Theme
The 1960s or ‘swinging sixties’ was a decade of social revolution. A post war economic boom meant a greater flamboyance, the emergence of teenagers as a more predominant age group and of course, a certain rock band by the name of The Beatles were to hit the high notes. With an array of specialist 1960s props, we’ll be sure to have your next event swinging.
Of course, music and in particular The Beatles, are always going to be prominent in any 1960s event and we have some great props specific to this area. Our Abbey Road Zebra Crossing prop is a cultural icon and guests too young to remember the group in person will still be able to appreciate the significance. Combined with our giant record – which you may have to explain to guests who don’t even recall CDs – and Union Jack bunting, we’ll provide a decorative musical section for your event.
We can’t remember the 1960s without including the anti-war hippie culture which brought us the famous ‘peace sign’. It’s basic form of a circle with vertical line and downward sloping lines is still recognised and seen in modern culture and we have a giant peace sign prop and also some giant flowers to keep your hippie guests amused.
A decade remembered for its music and the rise to prominence of youth culture also delivered the highs of the 1966 World Cup triumph for England. Our English flags and bunting combined with our Union Jack background will certainly help set the scene for any football fans in your party.
